Private: property 10 ha with lawn and trees, swimming pool (above ground) round (1,20 m diameter, depth 80 cm, seasonal availability: 01.Jun. - 15.Sep.). Garden furniture, barbecue, parking on the premises. Shop 800 m, supermarket 1.5 km, sandy beach 1.7 km, thermal baths `Sorano` 30 km. Golf course (9 hole) 18 km. This home is in great condition, well furnished, private location, large property, view of the lake, convenient to town. The hosts are very accommodating and ready to meet your needs. We have stayed in several vacation homes in Italy, and this is amongthe best. Ideal for a couple with two children who need space to run around. If two couples book, they should be quite friendly. The property listing on web sites does not do justice to the home. Traveller tips: I used street view on Google to help find the way to the property; highly recommended since there are twists and turns and an ancient gateway involved. There is a nice small market in town between the two piazzas, and a larger COOP down the road toward Roma. Both nearby trattorie are very good. Don't miss a trip to Civita di Bagnoregio. Turn right out of the driveway to access the road to Orvieto, etc.; this is a short cut.

Wir waren nun bereits das 2. Mal im Casale Madonna del Giglio und wieder war der Urlaub ein Traum. Das Anwesen ist toll gelegen und wunderbar angelegt. Der Blick ist Balsam für die Seele. Man ist zu Fuß in einem 15 Minuten weitestgehend ebenem Spaziergang durch Olivenhaine (mit Kindern !) an der Burg von Bolsena und in weiteren 5 Minuten in der unteren Altstadt (steil bergab/auf), mit zahlreichen Läden und Restaurants. Auf dem Grundstück selbst kann man die absolute Ruhe genießen: Einfach auch mal einen Tag nicht rausgehen aus dem schönen Olivengarten ist soooo toll und die Kinder können sich im Olivenbottich abkühlen und plantschen. Das Haus ist innen nicht unbedingt so, wie wir es selbst einrichten würden, vieles ist aus unserer Sicht überladen, ... aber es ist alles spürbar mit so sehr viel Liebe arrangiert und man kann sich wirklich nicht zuletzt darum rundum wohl fühlen. Und es ist drinnen wie draußen alles da was man braucht. Wir möchten hier G. und R. danken für die wieder sehr, sehr herzliche Aufnahme und die hervorragende Betreuung. Wir werden auch ein drittes und ein viertes Mal wieder kommen. Reisetipps: Wir lieben den See–Strand von Grotte di Castro und kleinere Ausflüge in die nähere Umgebung sind wunderbar für den nachmittäglichen Ausklang eines Badetages geeignet (Acquapendente, Grotte di Castro, Latera, Valentano, Capodimonte, Marta (!!!!!!!), Orvieto (!!!!!!!),.... Auch nach Rom ist's nicht weit. Das kann ein sehr interessanter Tagesausflug sein. Wir parkten immer in Saxa Rubra (ca. 1 Std und 20 Min von Bolsena bis zum bewachten ParkAndRide–Parkplatz) und waren mit der S–Bahn in 15 Minuten an der Piazza del Popolo. ... wir liebten auch die Fahrt auf der Via Cassia Richtung Siena, oder die Fahrt nach Perugia. Restaurants gibt es in Bolsena zahlreiche und die recht lecker. Es erfordert keiner besonderen Empfehlung, denn wir haben nie nicht gut gegessen. Eine besondere Empfehlung wünscht sich aber unser 10 jähriger Sohn nun doch: Carbonpesce in der Trattoria Picchietto .... und natürlich die Pizze in der Antica Trattoria / Pizzeria del Corso. Wir freuen uns auf den nächsten Aufenthalt.

This is our second year at this house. It is well equipped, private, and convenient to the town. The grounds are very large, suitable for children to play safely. The owners are very accommodating. Our visits were in the fall, so we cannot comment on thesituation with summer heat. But there are insect screens at least. Traveller tips: Reservations at the local restaurants are recommended. Please be sure to visit the Tarot garden near Capalbio, and Civita del Bagnoreggio.
